## 1. Key Observations
### We don't have a clear sense of purpose
We lack a working missions statement / value proposition.
> What do we want to achieve with this project?
> What effect do we hope to achieve?
> Why do we want to achieve those goals?
### We fail to track & measure our impact
> Do people really enjoy our issue?
> Do they really listen to the podcast?
> Are we making a positive impact in the community?
### We fail to engage the community
Currently it felt more like self-entertainment
> Are people execited for every new issue to come out?
> Do they feel incentivized & excited to submit their pieces?
> Do they feel safe to share their true thoughts?
### The form of physical newsaper is costly, unsustianable, and outdated
Newspapers was invented in the 16th Century.
## 2. Proposed Solution
> [!Solution]
> Transitioning form **physical newspaper** to **online community platform**
Potential platform: Linkedin group, Circle
### Benefits
- more engaging (fostering communitation)
- easier to scale
- more opportunities & flexibility
- multi-media -- maybe collab with MIN (both as school media)
- multi-fucntion -- e.g. borrowing food, requesting for door opening, mensa snack check, buying & selling, etc.)
*We could still compile the best posts into physical monthly issue for print*
## 3. Development Vision
UWCM newspaper --> UWCM community platform (text-based)
--> UWCM multi-media & multi-function community platform
--> UWC multi-media & multi-function community platform
> [!Vision]
> Final Product = a student-led global, cross-campus, multi-function UWC online community
## 4. Next Steps
- [ ] Discussing the issue with team members and forming consensus
- [ ] Ensuring a smooth transition
- [ ] Technical Aspect (platform setup)
- [ ] PR (the last issue -- where we came from, where we are, and where are we going)
