why do we want to do it? how can we do it? how do we know if we're doing it? **we need a clear nission statement & value proposition** Why are we doing this newspaper? What effect do we hope to achieve? **we need to track and measure our effectiveness (in achieving the mission)** How do we measure its influence & impact in our community? Do we know if people really listen to our podcast? **we need to better engage the larger community, foster an environment that encourages deep conversation, and avoid self-entertainment** Why do we have writers and illustraters in our team? Why are they forced to contribute every time? How do we make sure that it's not just self-entertainment within the group, but people outside the team are always loving to contribute & read? Rotating "correspondent" instead of fixed writer We invite people in our community (they sign up) to write about a certain topic How do we control / direct the submission content from the larger community? What do we want them to write about? How to we want to lead the public discussion? Who decided what should we talk about? How do we want to facilitate deep conversation -- which requires both deep listening / reading & deep, genuine expression? How do we make sure it's a conversation instead of self-talk? How to make people *care* about what other people wrote and *want* to share their voice? How can people interact with each other's writing? Objecting? Upvoting? Comenting? platform change? physical copies --> digital platform where people can intereact with the content and each other 建立一个公共论坛 why cant we just build a platform where people can post whatever they want? why did it have to be a newspaper with editors to decide which to publish and which to not? is moderation necessary to ensure quality? ## Workflow propose change - instead of people abmitting their work, we ask people if they are willing to share insight on a certain subject and be our correspondent for this issue - encourage people to write reply / responses to pieces on previous series - monthly big piece + weekly digital edition - good pieces from weekly edition gets selected into the monthly issue - writer --> journalist / content searcher (look for peopke with unique insights and invite them to write) ![[TFD Rethink.jpeg]]
