## Starting Questions What do we want to achieve with this project? What effect do we hope to achieve? Why do we want to achieve those goals? --> **we need a clear nission statement & value proposition** How can we do it? How do we know if we're doing it? How are we doing? Is our newspaper effective in achieving its goal? How do we measure its influence & impact in our community? Are people really reading our newspapers? Do people really listen to our podcast? Do they really enjoy it? --> **we need to track and measure our effectiveness (in achieving the mission)** Do people really read it? Are people execited for every new issue to come out? Do they feel incentivized & excited to submit their pieces? Do they feel safe to share their true thoughts? Results can only be found outside organizations --> How do we make sure that it's not just self-entertainment within the group, but people outside the team are always loving to contribute & read? --> **we need to better engage the larger community, foster an environment that encourages deep sharing and deep conversation, and avoid self-entertainment** ## Current Problem - no missions statement, no value proposisiton, no point - no submission, no genuine expressions, no conversation, no interactions, no impact (no way to measure) - paper not sustainable people are not excietd -- most people who cheer are dp2s we have to make TFD something exciting we dont necessarily need people to cheer for us, but we need to make them to feel like our product is something that improves their lives *Newspapers was invented in the 16th Century* ## Solution ### New Mission State & Value Proposition Building a space for voices, conversations, and community Empowering every one to share their thoughts for meaningful and constructive conversations Building a true community where it's easy for every one to interact with one another ### Physical newspaper --> online community Multi-media online community & informaiton paltform - Channels - buying & selling - borrowing food - Posts - text - long, opinion, etc. - short, poem, sharing, observation, etc. - video (--> MIN) - picitre - illustration, photography, etc. - Reply, intereaction, discussion "suggested monthly theme"? (do we want to lead the public discourse) Compile the best posts into physical monthly issue for print ## Ensuring a smooth transition DP2s are leaving --> preparing the current DP1 for the new platform, officially launch next year Transition -- school monetary support, tech configuration, etc. ### Technical Ensuring financial support Figuring out & setting up the platform ### PR explaining & justifying our move writing community guideline encouraging every one to create accounts & posts ## Future Vision School newspaper --> School online community with text posts --> School online community with text & video posts (+MIN) --> Inter-school (UWC) Community with text & video (UWCTV) posts Projects -- cross-campus collaboration & scaling MIN + TFD = School (UWCM) Online Community --> UWC Online Community > [!Vision] > Final Product -- a student-led global, cross-campus UWC online community
