I am an absolute UWC-movement enthusiast. Up until now, I have studied in 2 UWC Campuses, took part in 1 UWC Short Course in Binh Dinh, Vietnam, and helped organize another one in Changshu, China. Currently, my close friends are spread across the world in different UWC campuses. Last year, my DP2 roommate attended the UWC Congress 2024 in Thailand as a student representative. He noticed a strong urge between different UWC campuses to form stronger connections. I also talked with the a teacher from the Admission Office -- who was also a UWC Pearson Alum -- and she introduced me to UWC Hub, established to strenghten connections between different students and alum. Last year, as the shadow chairman of College Council, we had multiple conversations with the head of school to discuss the UWC-IB conflict. We also pushed really hard for an academic policy reform that basically get rid of all the school assessments. Just last Month, Faith also visited our campus, and had lunch with my ex-collegues,. According to one of them they talked about the International College Council, in which he was the chairman. Last summer, I contacted Sam Jeong, who was spearheading a UWC-inspired Vietnam Campus Project, and applied to become a facilitator at the UWC Short Course Vietnam -- Doing Good. Although I was not qualified as I'm not over 18, I still participated in the short course as a participant and experienced it first-hand. Deeply intrigued by these experiences and opportunitites, I felt so empowered to see UWC values spreading across the world and the lively student agency. It would be such an honor to attend this special dinner and celebrate the event in person, with this new campus in which I will continue my UWC journey.
