Hey there!
In case you didn't know me, I am Jimmy Zhang.
Just a little bit more about myself, I usually introduce me with three tags. So first, I am a PKM -- personal knowledge management -- enthusiast -- and I believe that knowledge management should not only be personal. Second, I am a technology lover, believing the tools we use shape us and define our abilities. And third, I am a UWC enthusiast. Although I just joined UWC Changshu last year, I already felt like this movement has become an integral part of my life.
A little bit more on my past very briefly. Last year at UWC Changshu, I served as the shadow chairman of the College Council, and that exerience inspired me a lot by showing me the agency UWC empowerepd us to pursue changes and make positive impacts. And the 1 year at UWC Changshu really opened up my world and showed me a lot of possibilities of life, as I met a lot of inpiring teachers, many of whom worked in other UWCs before, and heard them sharing their stories and ideas on education & UWC value.
This summer, several months ago, I volunteered to help out at the Mini-UWC -- a UWC short course at UWC Changshu. I also participated in the UWC short course -- Doing Good in Vietnam, organized by Sam Jeong, who was introduced to me by one of my Vietnamese friends, and who is also a very inspiring figure himself. These two expeirences showed to me the power of UWC Values extending beyond UWC Campuses, into the local communities, and reaching more and more aspiring young minds.
And then here I am -- I applied to transfer to this campus because I am eager to mebrace new experiences on this new continent, and see for myself how the UWC values has taken shape on the other side of Earth.
So yeah, it would be such a great honor to attend this lunch in person, and I would love to have this experience added to my UWC journey.
Thanks for your time.
