I chose SGC as my top choice because I believe global competence is an important component of education, as the world needs global-competent individuals to tackle world issues. This topic feels the most exciting to me, especially as a UWC student myself.
Subsequently, I chose PLW and LPC. Intellectuals in all those various areas of knowledge bear the responsibility to actively adapt to and provide a framework of understanding for the rapidly changing world we live in. Only by changing people's thinking and institutional structures through the power of knowledge can we change people's actions to collectively tackle global challenges.

During a Yale college visit, I realized the importance of effectively transforming knowledge -- the most valuable capital in the 21st century -- and all the intellectual assets into research and projects that improve the world. That insight prompted me to visit the YYGS website and find the SGC course.
A UWC enthusiast myself, I studied in two UWC schools and engaged in two UWC Short Courses in China and Vietnam. I have seen UWC values take shape in different parts of the world, compared to other UWC students. I hope to gain insights to guide my further UWC journey.
Mom: resigned 6 years ago to take care of my education; currently works as a writing coach / freelancer
father: serves as a regional chairman at Zhongliang Holdings Group Company Limited, a real estate development company.
- Last year in UWC Changshu, the College Council envisioned creating a "UWC TV" that connects UWC campuses worldwide through a collaborative TV show. We started off with our own TV station KunCheng Network (KCN). Arriving at UWC Maastricht, I brought the idea and co-founded a second station, Maastricht Island Network (MIN).
- It's incredibly inspiring to have everyone together to watch our TV show during assembly, and to see media as a force to engage every one and foster community spirit.
- As the "management consultant" of the team, I also gained valuable experience overseeing the entire workflow and ensuring progress.
